I am not very smart! I signed up for AR 2 months ago at their special rate of $1.00/month only to disappear for the next two months.
The reason is that I had to blow up my previous business models based on some information put out by the NAR. The information has to do with how people are now searching for their homes. The numbers are compelling. 90% of all searches begin on the internet. The majority of these searchers will be looking online for about 10 weeks before they even contact a realtor. Add to this the realization that there were 3000 tweets/minute regarding the death of UBL, and it does not take a rocket scientist to realize that the internet is revolutionizing the way people search for and buy their homes.
As a result, I went to work. I recently completed my Internet Marketing Specialist training, and I have obtained my IMSD designation. I have also been researching the right IDX button to use on my new website.
I am excited (and a little nervous!) about the opportunities that lie ahead. I fully plan on becoming an SEO addict. I am looking forward to competing in this arena, and I am now as connected as kids half my age. I love to blog and stay connected with my peers, but I am looking forward to expanding on FB and Twitter.
I am instituting models on how to capture and then convert leads. I am using phrases like Google Analytics and long tailed searches with an ease I did not have when I started my training.
I am starting to think that you really can teach an old dog like me some new tricks! I am also excited about the challenges ahead. This is a very exhilarating time to be in the real estate business.
