After a very busy week last week, with State Senator Mike Harridopolos, Chair of the Florida Senate Tax and Finance committee as my guest, this week I return to our more normal format - covering all the news from around the State and indeed around the country, that is relevant to my listeners.
First up I will be discussing the demise of so called discount broker Foxtons, who closed their doors for the last time this week. They blame the market, but actually I blame the fact that they offer no service to their clients. So in a boom market they can make some money, but as soon as they actually have to work for a living, they are in deep trouble. This could be the first of many.
One of my big problems in life, is Government sticking its nose into the market - and so with all the legislative changes going on, clearly I will have a lot to say. Luckily I love the sound of my own voice and so I won't be running dry any time soon.
Is there discrimination going on in the lending industry? Two bits of evidence suggests there is, but I will examine whether they were comparing apples with apples before drawing any conclusions.
