WINE TASTING - PART THREE

Okay, so over the past few years I've noticed that WINE TASTING seems to be catching on more and more.  And with all of these blogs I'm writing about wine tasting, you'd think I was a total wino or something.  In reality, I have really only been wine tasting like four or five times.  In fact, not that I want to disappoint some of you, but when we open a bottle at home, nine times out of ten we end up forgetting about the rest of the open bottle and end up having to throw it away.  (I know, I'm a total disgrace to diehard wine drinkers everywhere!)

BUT, I have thoroughly enjoyed the few times I have been to a wine tasting, so here's to part three!

Part Three is featuring The Packing House in the beatutiful city of Claremont, California.  Claremont is home to the world-famous CLAREMONT COLLEGES, and boasts an old downtown along with a newer portion of the downtown area.  It's really nice to go stroll through both parts of the downtown.  And if you get hungry, there are many places to stop for a whole meal, some chocolate or just a yougurt or ice cream.

And the best part is it's only one town east of LA VERNE.

The best place to WINE TASTE is in the old PACKING HOUSE.  The PACKING HOUSE used to be where the oranges from all of the local orange groves were packed.  In fact, the whole area used to be orange groves for the most part.  (Florida, eat your heart out!)

The PACKING HOUSE has been remodeled into a beautiful place to wine taste.   It boasts a full bar and lounge along with it's wine tasting.  It was even named Best of LA Best Wine Tasting by CBS2 as well as being named business of the year in 2008 b the City of Claremont.

Featuring over 1300 wines by the glass it's menu rotates to accomodate all of these different varities.  The menu is set up so you can pair the food you are having with the wine you are tasting.  (Kinda smart, huh?)  It's open various hours from Tuesday through Sunday.

The PACKING HOUSE has many special events. And they even offer a gift basket service which will create custom baskets for the asking.

So for any special events, or just to have a fun time out, you should check out the PACKING HOUSE today!

Hi Linda, now...I"m the type of wine drinker that would rarely have unused wine to throw away.   lol  However, at this point, I've never been to a wine tasting, but you make it sound like it is something I'd really enjoy.  Good post.
