We are working to get our home ready for sale.
As a Realtor®, I know what needs to be done.
The challenge is that doing that requires a lot of hard decisions on items that have been part of our lives for many years.
Today I went through dozens of tee-shirts which I had collected over the years. Being in the world of technology, almost every trip resulted in a new tee-shirt.
I did find an original iMac tee-shirt still in the plastic wrap. Maybe I will put it on eBay.
We have some interesting things like an electric butter churn and a stainless steel milk pail. They are leftovers from our ten years on the farm.
There are still a couple of high school and college text books around on the book cases.
Then there is still furniture from both of our families' home places. That includes furniture manufactured in my father furniture factory, National Furniture.
Of course we have plenty of children's books and toys that we have kept just in case some grandchildren show up.
Then there are all the dishes and paraphernalia that we have collected over the years.
We will get it all cleaned out.
At least I will have some sympathy for homeowners with stuffed houses.
It's a big job David! I have found that with increasing years, however, that I appreciate having less to take care of. I seriously cleared out a few years back - it would have been about 20 years worth also - and find myself fighting the temptation to gather more!
Cheers and good luck with your clutter!
