Looking for the secret to nail yourself to the top of google for all your keywords?

Learn what you need to know about driving traffic to your site.

More Traffic in Traffic Videos on my site, if you liked this one.

Social Bookmark sites allow you to make a link on their site to your favorites. Linking to your own site will help search engine spiders find you and will help other people searching these link sites to find you as well.

Delicious has since added "no follow" tags which devalue the links you make back to your site, however this doesn't change the fact that the strategy works like a charm. Here is a Social Media Marketing Report that will help you with a list of hundreds of sites that allow you to do this.

I've also found a tool that makes bookmarking on multiple sites a LOT easier. Have a look at BookMarking Daemon, it'll save you a ton of time and is well worth the low cost of the software.

Riel, I had a hard time hearing what you were saying because I was so amazed at how you were making this video.  I kept bursting out laughing.

But I bookmarked the page so that I can listen to it again with my eyes closed.  i won't be so worried about you getting into a fender bender while giving this lecture.

I do appreciate the insight on seo and am going to try it after I listen again.

Just one of those things ... I always wanted to do this, but never had time... Since I think about this stuff when I'm driving, and I don't have anything else to do ... I thought it would be a fun little gimmick :)

I'm glad it gave you a laugh :)

A really solid post. I have to tell you that your idea of traffic in traffic is definitely unique.  Apart from that your information on social networking is solid.  While a very powerful tool, many in the real estate industry have not caught on let alone maximized on its potential.  I look forward to reading/watching more of your blog posts.

That was really cool to watch, and I think you should have your own TV show.  I've never seen a video blog like that before.  Thanks!

Thank you all so much for your positive responses, it's one of those nutty things that you do and think .... Will people respond to the fact that it's a little unique, or will I just look like a goof.

I'm really encouraged by the positive feedback... I'm going to make a few more of these now that I know that people like them.

Thanks again, all of you.

OK, I'm going to admit, I am one of those people living under a rock and have never heard of social bookmarking. Thank you for dragging me out from underneath my rock! Love the video!

Riel, how do I go about adding my site to delicio.us for example?
7:50pm • #13
It is my understanding that you can add your site to delicious for example but you need to write a blog and add content to actually get vistiors to your site via content.  This way people rank or rate your site to move it up into the search engines.   So here we go again everyone needs to write blogs.
7:57pm • #14
How can we add it to our site? I have a blog but didn't know how to add my site to delicious.
7:58pm • #15
Localism Sponsor

You'll have to set up an account, and then just start to add bookmarks (like your site).

instead of using the site name (or whatever the title of the page is, which is what it'll pick up) you replace it with something that has your keywords in it : like :    " Best Vancouver Realtor | House for sale "

Happy linking, I'm off to eat turkey :)

8:09pm • #16

Well on digg.com you join and you have a place where you can actually enter the site where the story originated.  So if it is on  your webpage that is where I would enter my URL.  I am still trying to figure out the delicious site. I am certainly no web designer but it looks like that is what will work on the digg site.  I am having a blog set up on my own web page so I can link any blog I write directly to some of the other sites which will move me up in the ranks as people rank my  blogs.  So lets say I wrote a story on the Wildwings Subdivision in Woodland I am going to add that site to diggs under submit new site.  That should help my pages in the search engines because I have my website linked to activerain which we all know the consumer side is localism.com

So my url is going to be

http://localism.com/article/169727/Wild-Wings-Subdivision-Gated-Golf-Course because that is where my story orignated.  Hope that helps.

It is hard for all of us novices to figure out what the pros are trying to tell us.  We just have to keep moving forward because buyers and sellers are letting their figures do the walking.:)

Or of course hire us pro's to do it for you :)

I posted an update to my delicious page in the body of the blog text, check out the link and you'll get the idea.

it's called a "post" on delicious.

It really isn't Charlotte.  I'm not trying to hold things back or give you partial information.

But like anything, it's work, it takes time and even if it's something you could do yourself, it's often simpler to simply pay someone who's main focus is doing that.

9:16pm • #20
Ok Hate to sound stupid but what would your delicious page be? I have searched posts and am not finding it.

Wow , i dont know what to say, i feel like your this webite superstar..lol,thank you for all of that. But the million dollar secret , you say to put keywords? but do you still put your website behind that? how do the seos know how to find you if you dont put your website.

Riel, where is the camera strategically placed in your car.  Great video, thanks for sharing.

Todd: The form consists of a Title, the URL and a description box

The title would be your keywords (Vancouver's Best Real Estate For Sale ) - this way you're hitting a few at once

The URL would be to your website (thus it's pointing to your site).

The description can be whatever you like, although some more carefully placed keywords would be good.

So now ... when you view the page on delicious - the TITLE has become your link, and thus... as you put in your keywords and not "Todd Crilley's web site".. you are helping your ranking for those keywords since they point to your site, so that must make you an authority on that subject.

Timothy: I've got one of those little $100 camera's off ebay that does video, stills, voice recording, mp3 player and it'll make toast (ok, not toast, but it's silly how much they pack into these things)

I'm just holding it in my hand and leaning my arm against the window to brace it.  It works pretty well, although it would be fun to trick out the van with some fixed cameras and mounted mics - I was thinking I could even do interviews :)... I'm sure that the wife would just love that!!!  :-(

Social bookmarking and news sites are important can generate huge traffic and great links. Links on Delicious profiles and many others are no-followed so they are not passing any link love BUT the more visibility your site receives the more visitors it will get AND many of those visitors will pass link juicy links to your site from their blog or site. A front page story on DIGG can generate thousands of unique natural links. Delicious may not deliver quite as many but it can deliver 500-1000 quality links if the site or blog gets popular enough.

If you ever have an accident, we are not gonna be happy! Be careful out there...but then again, you did seem to have both hands on the wheel. I still love the women I saw driving on the freeway, putting on makeup and talking on her cell phone while driving...and NO, it was not a hands free cell phone!

Thanks for the great tips!

I've tried the social bookmark venue. Bookmark any page you add and it shows up in the search engines the next day. It's incredible. It seems to fade off pretty fast though. Social Bookmark Links are kind of like sugar rushes.

I have to admit that I was a little concerned with your technique. If we resided in the same city, I would be compelled to ask what you drive so I could keep a look out ... but we do not, so I should just say ... THANK YOU for the informative anecdote and the interesting delivery choice :)
