Love My Smartphone

I used to love my Blackberry, I was an addict for sure. Blackberry could do no wrong, well except for the ball sticking. So, when I was eligible for an upgrade I had no doubts about getting a new Blackberry. They fixed the ball problem, so it should be perfect now!

Within the first day of having my new Blackberry, I was having problems with it not sending text messages through. I called those people and asked them to text me, still nothing. Blackberry has come out with a new operating system and it was suggested that the new operating system would correct any problems I was having. I downloaded the new OS and it was very different. I was honestly mad, I don't understand why they would change it so much. I got a Blackberry because I liked it and knew their system, but they changed it. I sent it back.

If you have a Blackberry and you don't like change, I suggest you do not download the new OS!!

I knew I was going to get something with a Droid OS. I considered iPhone, but it costs a lot more and I am not one to get something just because everyone else is. My husband has the Droid X and my daughter has the Droid 2, so I was able to see those and compare. A friend has the HTC Incredible and I met with her and checked out her phone. I decided to go with the HTC Incredible. The Droid X is bigger and heavier, and the Droid 2 is even a little heavier.

I love my HTC Incredible, it's an all touch screen and it does everything my Blackberry did, only better and faster. It took some getting used to and I had to learn the Droid system, but I'm so glad I did. It's connected directly to my gmail, one touch and I'm in my inbox. If I get an attachment in an e-mail, I can open it up quickly and view it on my phone. Zooming in on the document is done with a reverse pinch.  Internet searches are very quick as well.

The GPS on my phone is actually better than my GPS. If I've discussed a property in my e-mail or scheduled a showing and got an e-mail confirmation, the GPS already knows. I start typing in the address and it pops up with the address from my e-mail. When I'm driving, it speaks clearly and names the roads. If I make a change in my route, it recalculates the route in seconds. And best of all, it doesn't make me look stupid by taking me the long way when I have clients following me.

The camera on my phone is better than my camera. Granted, my camera is old, but why would I buy a new camera when I carry one with me everywhere I go?

I hear a lot of complaints about the battery life and I do have to charge my phone a couple times a day. I have a car charger and an electric charger that can also be plugged into a computer, so I've not had a problem getting it on a charger when it's needed. When you consider all it does, it's just a little computer. You wouldn't expect a computer to work all day without needing charged. If that's the only complaint, the cure is just an attitude adjustment away.
