On May 27th & 28th, you can take your used and scrap tires to Dom's Auto Parts at 1604 Baseline Road West in Courtice to be recycled - saving the environment AND helping raise funds for children with physical disabilities and life-threatening illnesses.
Funds raised during the Ontario Automotive Recyclers Association Spring 2011 Tire Take Back will benefit the Sunshine Foundation of Canada, an organization that grants wishes to severely ill or physically disabled children.
During the OARA Spring Tire Take Back, up to four tires can be dropped off to be recycled between 7am and 6pm on May 27th and May 28th. There will be a fee to drop off more than four tires, but the charge will be donated to The Sunshine Foundation.
Most tires contain non-biodegradable materials that pose environmental concerns. By recycling used tires, they are prevented from filling up landfills or being trucked away to be incinerated.
Recycled tires can be used to make a wide variety of consumer products - from rubber mulch, roof shingles, carpet underlay, welcome mats, playground surfaces, patio tiles, skating arena floors, mouse pads, engine components, athlectic tracks and more.
Take some time to dig out any old tires lying around your property and take them down to Dom's Auto Parts on May 27th and May 28th...help a great deserving children's charity, the environment, and yourself!!
