Friday 13th flower photographs from the Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden

These spring flower pictures were taken during a recent rainy Saturday morning visit to the Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden in Richmond, Virginia. It is a wonderful place to visit. The conservatory and gardens are beautiful. We arrived just after spring showers and the blooms were enhanced by droplets of rain.  When you are in the Richmond area, also be sure to visit the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. The Picasso exhibit is featured at VMFA until May 15th.

From the website:  "Forty Acres of Glorious Gardens  Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden offers year-round beauty on a historic property with more than 40 acres of spectacular gardens, dining and shopping. A classical domed Conservatory is the only one of its kind in the mid-Atlantic. More than a dozen themed gardens include a Children's Garden, Rose Garden, Healing Garden, Sunken Garden, Asian Valley and Victorian Garden."  http://www.lewisginter.org/plan/index.php

Always have your camera in hand to capture those special moments. Don't let a spring shower deter you from taking flower photographs. The water droplets can make some of the flowers even more interesting. If you have spring pictures to share, please post them in the comments for this blog.

Hey Roy,

Fourty acres, wow. That's a lot of flowers. I can see now why you need to go back. This could take a while.

Hi Roy~

The blue flowers are magnificent. I honestly don't see blue flowers unless they are dyed in a grocery store bouquet!

Just stunning.

Happy Friday to you and Dolores!
