Forbes Magazine Chooses Bedford, NH 5th in the Nation - "Best Schools For Your Real Estate Buck"
Forbes Magazine is well known for its annual "Top 100...", "Best of..." and "Best Places for..." ranking and lists. From "America's Best Colleges" to "Most Expensive Zip Codes", the Forbes team racks and stacks across dozens of categories, and Americans love it.
We want to know which States are the greenest, which cities are the cleanest and which companies are the most family friendly.
For many families, finding a great place to live that also has great schools hits the proverbial "bulls eye" of house hunting.
Following the introduction of "Best Schools For Your Real Estate Buck" in 2010, Forbes teamed up again this year with GreatSchools, a leading source of information on school performance, to review school districts in towns and cities across America.
The 2011 Review again ranked several New England cities and towns at the top of the list when compared to schools in cities across America.
Our own Bedford, NH community and schools ranked No. 5 in the Nation on the "Best Schools For Your Real Estate Buck" list. What amazing national recognition of our community's family-first vision and the dedication of our teaching professionals and school district administrators.
According to Forbes, Bedford, NH parents can find the highest quality schools for their children and also have housing choices that are affordable. We've long known that Bedford NH is a perfect place to call home....now we are definitely "on the map" Nationally.
In addition to 5th ranked Bedford, NH, Falmouth, Maine landed the No. 1 ranking and Barrington, Rhode Island came in at No. 4. Congratulations to our fellow New England school districts and towns.
Forbes and GreatSchools analyzed over 17,500 schools in nearly all 50 States. Student performance on state-wide standardized tests were combined with scores from a federal program that randomly tests students in grades 4, 8 and 12 to provide state-level assessments of educational progress. GreatSchools combined and analyzed the data from these tests to provide a city-level score. This school assessment reviewed more than 200,000 public and public charter schools in the country. See the full story for the details on how smaller districts and larger metropolitan districts were evaluated for this study.
Congratulations to our local Bedford, NH school district.
Cheers!
