http://www.homeappraisalsbatonrouge.com/ - Pole Aerial Photography: Exterior P.A.P. Using Kodak Zi8 Camera On Tall Monopod and SUV.  P.A.P. meaning "Pole Aerial Photography".   For the Agent on a tighter budget, this might be a possible solution!  I was amazed at how many inbox messages I received from Agents wanting to know how I accomplished this photo.  While standing on top of your auto isn't for everyone reading this post, an 8' to 10' latter might be a better solution.

Photo Below: My first attempt at Pole Aerial Photography from on top of my suv holding a monopod and taken with Kodak Zi8 with 0.5x wide angle lens by remote control clicker (about 16' to 18' above the ground). I'm sure the neighbors were wondering what in the world was going on! I like this kind of stuff...

I know that there are many real estate professionals on Active Rain blogging about P.A.P. and there's even the P.A.P. Group on Active Rain that shares ideas and tips on this extension of real estate marketing.  And, apparently P.A.P. is a popular topic on Facebook as my post below generated more than a few comments.

Here's How!

First, this is not "pro photography"...obviously.  This is accomplished with a simple Kodak Zi8 with 0.5x Wide Angle Lens ($39 at BestBuy) mounted on a 57" monopod ($15 Walmart) using a Kodak remote control clicker ($10 at BestBuy).

EXTERIOR SHOTS. For Exterior High Shots, I stand on top of the SUV below and hold the monopod as high and as sturdy as I can and use the remote to click the photos.

Sounds like a lightweight setup and an inexpensive way to utilize pole photography.

What I like the setup other then cost is that you can leave it in the car. It's nice to be able to take this kind of photos at a drop of a hat.

Thanks for this info Bill!  I was researching cameras for real estate and found your post.  The set up might be more expensive for me though, since I'd have to buy an SUV as well LOL.  I'm going to check out the Kodak Zi8 online.

Pole Aerial Photography. Wow! You learn something new everyday. I'm looking for new groups to join. I think P.A.P group on ActiveRain is going to be one of them. Thanks for sharing.
