the claridge house in Verona New JerseyWhen you see a listing for the Claridge Houses in Verona, New Jersey on the internet or an agent emails you Claridge House units for sale or even when you meet the agent at one of the Claridge Houses in Verona you have access to the "financial information", i.e., total assessment (including land and building assessment), the taxes and the tax rate.  Now one would assume that the total assessment, taxes and tax rate are correct and current and in some cases that may be but in some cases (mostly on older listings or Claridge units that have been on the market for a long time) the total assessment, tax rate and taxes are incorrect.  The assessments are higher than they currently are and the tax rate shows 9.9.  In speaking with Verona's Tax Assessor's Office today, I was informed that the Claridge Houses have been reassessed and the current tax rate lowered to 2.416

With the NEW ASSESSMENT AND NEW LOWER TAX RATE, the impact on one of the Claridge House II units is significant

Gina I think that a lot people are confused about the tax assessments as it relates to the value of their property.  Personally I just ignore my assessment in relationship to the value of my home.  To me, it's only value is to the tax collector.
