Temecula Valley High School (TVHS) regarding taking cSummer is coming. Be sun safe!

Overexposure to the sun can cause health problems. Here is a quick overview of the major health problems linked to overexposure to UV radiation:

  • Skin cancer (melanoma and nonmelanoma)
  • Premature aging of the skin and other skin problems
  • Cataracts and other eye damage
  • Immune system suppression

Understanding these risks and taking a few sensible precautions will help you enjoy the sun while lowering your chances of sun-related health problems.

Here are some sun safety tips:

  • Lather on the sunscreen (before you go out in the sun, reapply as needed)
  • Put on a hat (one with a wide brim to protect face and neck)
  • Wear sunglasses (with proper UV and UVB protection)
  • Try to stay in doors between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. or be under cover.
