ST AUGUSTINE GARRISON Spanish Colonial Grand Muster Be part of the Grand Muster parade, a St. Augustine tradition that commemorates the events leading up to the 1740 invasion of Spanish Florida by the British colonies to the north. This reenactment will begin at the City Gates on the north end of St. George Street at 7:30 p.m. where the guard will be changed, a musket volley will be fired, and new sentries posted. Visitors are then invited to join the Grand Muster Parade and follow the Spanish governor, his soldiers, and townsfolk in the Grand Muster celebration as they march down St. George Street to the Plaza de la Constitution for the Blessing of the Flag at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Augustine.
