In Out Burgers or Buzz

I don’t think I have heard so much talk about a restaurant opening since back in the days when Whataburger came to our area. The buzz around town is about the all famous In Out Burgers. They opened their doors in the Villages at Allen on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at 10:30 am.

As I write this on Wednesday evening I am keenly aware of a terrific thunderstorm that has been pounding the area for at hamburgerleast the past two hours. Yet I read on Facebook that people are lined up outside waiting to get in the door. Cars are lined up at least a half mile waiting to get to the restaurant. I have heard so much talk about this place but I can assure my readers that I will not be standing in any line storm or no storm.

A burger is a burger or is it? Harry and Esther Snyder opened the first store in California giving birth to California’s first drive-thru restaurant in 1948. The store was operated on the principles of giving the people food made with the highest of quality and a sparkling clean restaurant. These principles have been passed down over the years and a legend was born known as the In Out Burgers.

Although times have changed the menu at In Out Burgers has not. They still make their orders fresh without the use of microwaves or freezers. All stores remain family owned and there are no plans to sell franchises. With a record like this maybe a burger isn’t just a burger. I will only know when I go and try them for myself just not in the rain or opening day.

I remember stopping at In N Out during my college days whenever we took roadtrips to California. Now there's one just a few minutes from my house in Henderson. Definitely my fast-food burger of choice!

Teral, when the store in Orem opened in the dead of a Utah Winter, they had people waiting in line for over 30 hours outside.  The temperatures had to be in the low teens.  They are my favorite fast food restaurant, but I am not quite that big of a fan.  I look at it this way, they are going to still be making burgers the day after they open, and everyday after that!  I really don't see the point in standing in line to be the first to get a burger!

But is it as good as a Billy's Burger from Jackson Hole? That's what I need to know!

Hello Teral and we have these In & Out burger joints all over the west coast and they are good! There is a HUGE one right on Tropicana only a few minutes walking distance from Las Vegas Blvd and this place is always jam packed. around the weekends there are limos there, married couples with the wedding parties and more. I swear I think this In & Out burger restaurant must pull in around 10K per day.

Teral, my wife is a California native, so I was one of the fools waiting two hours for a burger today. I was so hungry, I almost went to Cheddar's next door while waiting. Luckily it didn't start to rain until we were about to enter the building. We were in line for about 1:55, and another :20 to actually receive the order. We even grabbed a burger and took it to my Mother-in-law at work, and she was surprised beyond belief.

I think it means more to transplants from the West coast, since they simply didn't have access to them here. It's great to have In N Out's in Texas though. I will just be glad when the one closer to my home opens.

Being from California, we've been waiting for them to come this way. They opened 4 I think on Wednesday. Today we went to the Frisco location... I have to say that I was a little disappointed. Perhaps I've just had too much Mooyah lately, but Im thinking I like those burgers (definitely the FRIES) more than In N Out. My wife is still very excited though.

Teral, I've heard good things about them too from Tony and Darcy.  Funny when I lived in Southern California a while back I never ventured into one of their places.  I was into fast food Mexican, which was wonderful there.

I hope you are not disappointed!
