NYTimes.com Online to Mobile Listings

From the NYT.com Real Estate Web site you can send the property information to your or a friend's mobile phone. Select the "Send to Mobile" link in the "Listing Tools" section, enter the mobile number and a text message will be sent to the mobile number with some details of the property and a link to a mobile Web page containing full information and photos (if available).

Travel

Many of you may already know about this, but it was interesting to me and I wanted o share it. This could be a great tool for clients who travel in the States or even those who may travel internationally. I love reading about new tech advances. It can get expensive trying to keep up however.

The next time you get a call it may just be a listing.

Not something I would want to receive on my cell - the screen is as big as it can get on a cell, but still not something I like to use for internet connections!

Alan - This is an interesting concept.  I wonder if we could add similar technology to our site.

I actually have the text messaging feature on my phone turned off because I used to receive too much crap that started to add up in fees every month!

TXT messaging is a valid way to get information to a specific demographic. My company offers the service Zoglist.com.  The key point is that txt message target a specific demographic of people:  Tech savvy professionals.

We have had realtors love the idea, because of the instant information.  The key item is that now the potential customer has the information in their cell phone.  The other key point for the realtor, is that they have a phone number of someone who asked for information about the property.

We also have realtors who hate the idea.  They believe that it takes the personal touch out of the process.  We have spoken to the buyers, and they like it cause they don't have to speak to anyone to get information.  For good or ill people may just be looking and they don't want to talk to people.

Its not the end all be all of advertising, but it fosters a communication to a specific demographic.

If you need more information, please let me know
