Andrea - I had also taken some shots of roses that were fully in bloom and then came across this one that appeared to be just on the verge of opening.  At the time I was there, most of the rose bushes had not bloomed yet.  I'll have to go back again!

Susan - The camera is a 6.0 Megapixel Canon PowerShot S3 IS.  The lens is a 12x optical zoom and it has a digital zoom setting.  The megapixel size is low compared to digital cameras that are being produced nowadays (I bought this one in 2006) but I like the quality I'm able to get with it.  I'm sure a higher megapixel camera would produce images that are even more stunning!
