Memorial Day will be upon us soon ~ Remembering The Brave

It is another summer of freedom for all of us thanks to our Armed Forces. Personally I wonder if most Americans understand the sacrifices that pay the tab for us and for our freedoms, all politics aside.

This link was sent to me by a very dear friend who understands what freedom means and how we as a people have kept our freedoms since the beginning of the creation of our great nation, the United States of America.

Perhaps you could set a place at the Holiday table or picnic blanket for those who won't be able to make it, but I believe, still watch over us.

The event shown in this presentation was a dinner given at the Marine Corps Museum ( Quantico, Virginia ) for families who lost loved ones in combat.

Mary ~ It's easy to get so busy that we forget the sacrifices that others have made for us. I've had a couple of reminders while visiting DC this week, and it felt good.

Memorial Day will be upon us soon and I wanted to thank you for this post. We need to be reminded and continue to pray that all soliders come home. I am thankful for all that they do and I honor them.

I pray especially for more healthy live soldiers and prosperity for all. I am indebted to them for their courage and the services they provide, especially because they do so much for minimal wages and benefits. Their volunteer efforts that takes them into places others would not venture makes them courageous and brave. They are noble and we all need to pay them respect, living or dead.

Good Morning Melinda, Sometimes we do need to be reminded of the sacrifices others have made along the way just so we can be a free nation. I always tear when I hear the National Anthem and just how fortunate we are to live where we do. Thanks for commenting and I am glad you had a good time in D.C.

Good Morning Patricia, You are welcome and I just felt the need to post a reminder. I am with you that we also need to pray for all of the healthy live soldiers and their families. I know it is not an easy life for any of them. I feel honored to live in this country and hope and pray that no one will try and take those freedoms away. Life is not easy and sometimes it is very difficult and hard, yet we live in a country where all is possible when people care enough and decide to stand up and be counted for what is right and good, like our armed forces do each and every day.
