Excellent. Professional. I'm loving your posts. :-) Great job, great advice.
Charita....you could be right on that....but I think those who hoard information are frightened and worried that they will not survive if they share....someone better than they will pass them and leave them in the dust....it's all insecurity, no matter how you slice it....very sad.
Kathleen....thank you....I love it when you stop by and comment....I appreciate it.
Hi Barbara -- one eye always on the backside. Always. That is really sad to say but is true in many offices.
"Sharing information with other agents is an ideal way for you to confirm that you have an understanding of that information", Barbara - I love this line, this is so true.
Real estate is competitive at its core, and that's the reason some want to keep their ideas and how-to discoveries to themselves. But, as my grandma used to say "different sets of hands make different pies out of the same flour" - it's a Russian proverb I loosely translated.
Every time I read one of your posts, you amaze me. How did you get to be so wise and encouraging, all at the same time? Thanks for more great advice.
Gretchen
Erica....unfortunately, it is true for most offices....
Anna....wise woman, your grandma....
Gretchen.....thanks for the kind words.....
Barbars, I truly admire the way that you work. You have been so helpful to me, I hope one day to return the favor. :)
Barbara- I agree with your opinion on this at about 80%:) I do share and share a lot especially with the local and out of area agents that bring offers from buyer to our short sale listings. We spend the time to educate the buyers agent about how the short sale process works. We make sure they understand what their buyer is going to have to go through, etc. In fact, about 1.5 years ago, an agent who did not know anything about short sales brought a buyer to one of our listings. We trained her in working on her short sale and helping to keep up to date. She ended up coming to work for us as an agent! Now that was worth the training)
Chris....pay it forward in your office..... :)
Katerina....that was certainly worth the training.....we go through similar situations with listing new construction and land for custom built homes.....it's not like selling a resale home.....and 80% isn't bad!!!
Love this post for many reasons Barbara . trust and confidence are very close together when you are building an exemplary life.
Fernando....one can usually tell if a person is going to be trustworthy.....that type of person is not hurting people during the climb to the top!
Barb...
Whenever I come across something that I feel will bebefit other agents, I ask to do a "how-to" session at the office business meeting.
And of course, since I participate in AR every day, I have plenty to share!
Richard....yes, you always have much to share and you share it freely and openly.....I enjoy your posts...
Barbara, the interesting about sharing is it always comes back to you. That's what is great about ActiveRain. Thanks.
I do share about 85% of the time. BUT a couple of times I got stabbed in the back.....The people who did that DO NOT have my trust - nor wil I share with them again. However, for the most part, what I share is either put to good use or it isn't. But that is up to the person I give it to!
I'm still learning too. This is a learning process... in order to learn from others they need to be able to learn from you...
Hi Barbara...Your philosphy is exactly why you have not only been in the business for 33 years but have been successful. The more we give the more we receive. You are a giver. May you receive an abundance.
Kate
Hi Barbara...I'm the Kate above. Guess I was too anxious to comment.
Kate
Michael....yes, what goes around, comes around....
Ruthmarie.....I dislike hearing those stories of how one gets stabbed after helping and sharing....how absurd and really insecure of that person....no matter how many years we've been in the business, we're always learning....I have so much more technology to learn but I am diligently addressing it.....and my online presence is improving daily.....Google likes the Kuney-Todaro Team!!!
Kate....thank you so much for your kind words....I truly appreciate your reading my blog.....and I hope you comment again....thanks so much.
Kate....you weren't logged in....I thought you were from the public...that's funny....I was wondering how you knew I was a giver....ha!!
