Winnetka and Wilmette
This Sunday, May 15, there are two events that will help keep you outside and perhaps get a little exercise.
In Wilmette, the Wilmette Historical Museum's Spring Housewalk will go from 1-5 pm. This year's theme is "Architecture Through the Decades" and four homes will be featured that were designed by noted architects between 1890 and 1950. The housewalk will demonstrate the dramatic changes in architecture during those decades. To read more about the homes and register online, please see: Wilmette Housewalk.
Tickets purchased before Sunday are $40 for museum members, $50 for nonmembers, and $25 for students. Tickets purchased on the day of the housewalk are respectively $50/$60/$25. Tickets can be purchased at the museum between 1-4:30 Sunday through Thursday. The museum is located at 609 Ridge Road in Wilmette.
The second event takes place in Winnetka and is a Walkathon for Erica's Lighthouse. The walk will start at the gazebo at Hubbard Woods Park and go for two miles. The sponsors hope to spread information on adolescent depression. There is a $20 participation fee that includes a tee-shirt, live music, and raffle. You can register online or on the day of the event.
It finally spring, the weather is improving -- get out a bit and enjoy the events your communities and local organizations offer!
