Is this really the right venue to send something like this out? I don't think so.
No it's okay Reba. Look at the bottom of the article at the groups Rob has posted this article to.
Reba, I'm curious as to why you would ask that and why you think not? When would be a wrong time to ask for prayer?
Mike, Thanks.
Thanks Bob,
There is never a wrong time to pray, especially for God's direction is such an important decision and role.
We are instructed to pray for our leaders.
I for one will pray for Mike Huckabee and all those who are seeking God's direction.
Brother Paul said it all! I will join you in prayer for those seeking office as well as the voters to elect Godly leaders.
Yes, we are instructed to pray for our leaders and, this is exactly why prayer has been taken out of schools and the ten commandments removed....because we are trying to be more policitically correct rather than stand up for our rights as Christians. I for one, will not be silent, and always ready and willing to pray. I believe that everything we do should be done in a spirit of love, and trust God will be glorified.
Thank you Paul. It's great to know others are coming along side. We can move mountains.
Thank you Joni. Sometimes, as we witnessed in the last presidential election God gives us worldly leaders... must be to keep driving us to the secret place more is my guess. Either way we just stay prostrate.
Thank you Sherrill. Yes, Yes! All we are to do is stand. The work has been done and we just need to stand our ground. I am still dumbfounded by those in the body of Christ who hold to political correctness. The Jesus I am serving and want to be like is the one who had no fear of man whatsoever. He spoke the truth no matter how it might hurt. He called his disciple Satan once... and he's the one that was picked to build His church! He also challenged those who were seated above him, here on earth. We do need to be careful when doing that however; as long as we know it's what the Father wants, it will be alright. If we're doing it from our own indignation, we need to check that.
If you will look back in history, there has been so many great presidents who were also pastors. I will join you in praying for this brother.
If this isn't the venue then I'd like to know where is.
I applaud Mr. Huckabee's request for prayer in regards to his decision.
I also agree that we have become so politically 'correct' we've become luke warm. Do you think Jesus was politically correct, or did he tell it like it is. I hate the term, it's just a way of making people feel guilty for speaking what's what.
Thanks Mike, I hear he's already gotten his answer and is announcing tonight... that's what Bonnie told me this morning... through my haze I think I heard that.
Susan: Amen and amen. It's simple, Politically correct = The Worldview... Truth, Justice and Love = The Kingdom view.
Please pray for Israel today and tomorrow as the Arab world is trying to unite via Facebook to storm the Israeli borders on the 15th, the anniversary of the initiation of the State of Israel... or as the Arab brothers call it the Day of Castrophe.
No question the power of prayer. I believe now he is sending his support toward Santorum...
Not sure Ken and Leslye but I'm pretty sure he already had his decision made before this came to me... which I'm a little skeptical of now. I got a robocall from a PAC group he started and it seemed in high gear just 4 days after this request came in. Made me a little skeptical of his sincerity. Seemed like another political manuevering to me.
We need God leading our leaders....Prayer is powerful and we need to all be on our Knees..
Ginger
Ginger, you are absolutely 100% correct. There is still too much to be determined for us not to be determined. Thank you.
We must pray....for our country and each other.
Peace.
I thnk we can all use guidance from God, and should pray for it.
Arpad
Rob,
Thank you for posting this request! Yes, we are instructed to pray for our leaders.
I have just a few questions for Reba since you believe this is not the place for this post...
What do you think would have happened in the last election had people been praying?
What would have happened if everyone who voted in the last election voted on Godly values rather than emotion?
How many babies would have been saved from abortion were there Godly leadership in this country?
What would the national debt look like were a Christian in office?
Reba, please forgive me if I am wrong, but what was your motive in challenging the validity of Rob's post?
We are ALL going to be accountable for what we put in office...
If the Church had not been LAZY in doing it's job, we would certainly NOT have the UN-Godly leadership we currently have in this country. We are accountable for what WE ensorse!
Bless you Rob... Im with you! It is our responsibility to pray for Godly leaders, and we are otherwise LAZY and not really Christians if we do otherwise... We become the luke warm ones that He spews out of His mouth by laying back and letting the chips fall... Any vote for a NON Christian is a vote for the devil! When we AGREE with Godly values, we set ourself in agreement with God, and therefore the protection of the Lord is over us and our families regardless of what the nation does.. The blood of the Lamb is applied to our doorposts...
OK.. sorry I rambled on here Rob, bless you my friend!
Joe, Well it's been a while since this post and much mileage has passed. I was a bit put off by a robo call from a PAC by Huckabee less than 24 hours after his announcement that he would not run. Those things don't just put themselves together that quickly. I think I may have been had by the Gov. I can't believe that he didn't already know his answer before this request came to me. But that's all water under the bridge at this point. Godly or not, we always get the leader God wants us to have and this time won't be any different, although we are to pray for all our leaders. I hold on to the hope that we will have a leader who turns us back towards God someday soon. Welcome to the rain Joe.
