Absolutely breathtaking Gayle. I'm glad I changed my mind about going to bed early and looked through the photo entries instead.
What a beautiful picture, mother nature certainly gets it right, two thumbs up.
Mona--Glad you stayed up, hope you slept in!
David--Haven't seen you over here at my blog before, welcome! Mother Nature--gotta love her. She gives us enormous amounts of opportunity to treasure her for eternity if we're ready.
What a great story and also a great picture. I can see why they would want to use it.
Hey, Greg, I love your cactus-face by the way! I sent them a blog that also had close-ups of some of the males as well as a pic of their waterfall, so hopefully they'll let me know when they use them.
Hi Gayle~
Now that is what I call Localism!
Fantastic photo, layered with interesting subject matter! And, your enthusiasm for what you have discovered you can accomplish is contagious.
Best regards,
Judi, your comments just gave me goose bumps! Like watching a great performance on American Idol--sorry to be silly, but I react that same way!!!
Thanks for your comment, because I am embracing localism like I'm loco or somethin'...
Gayle, that's not just a localism post or contest entry, it's also a great success story! Congratulations!
Silvia it sure feels good to pay it forward and getting it back is the best form of business compliment one can receive. It's a circle, right?
Hi Gayle - Wow what shot! You have really captured a very nice mood here - and the color is awesome. Love this shot.
We are have peacocks in our wedding invitations and in touches of the ceremony this upcoming weekend. My Emilye is a bird behaviorist so I'm around bids all the time.
Great post!
Andre, coming from another photographer's viewpoint, I'm most appreciative of your compliments. Peacocks personify "cool". That is very creative having them be part of your wedding celebration, I would love to see what you guys did with the invitations.
Are you excited, nervous, calm, what??? I felt like our wedding day was PERFECT. We got married on the beach at sunset in Maui.
Gayle, a simple photo that says a lot. Good story...
Always good to have you come by, Michael! Thx.
Hi Gayle...What a great photo. You could not have planned it any better. I think we'd all love having that photo in our collection.
Kate
That no-planning plan worked I guess! I sure like the idea of "we'd all love having that photo in our collection"--a great compliment.
What gorgeous contrast in this photo. Really love the vibrant blue against that burst of sun-bright yellow. Nice!
Karen, thanks to my good friend, Kristine Ginsberg, I was able to make it POP, through PicNik*, a photo imaging site. Glad you liked it!
I did a blog about this program.

Hey Gale - Wow Maui - Nice. We decided garden over beach - beach being my idea ;P
Gayle,
This picture is the whole package - the photo, the story, the emotion and the people. I love it! You are exceptionally talented! You couldn't picked a better photo and what a great story behind it!
Excellent - a winner for sure!
Patricia
Wow, Patricia, thank you SO much!!! From one redhead to another, that's even more special.
I've always been a photo hound, but have gotten more "focused" (ha!) so that I have fodder for future posts.
