I wanted to reach out to everyone and let them know about a charity event this weekend in Dracut MA.

This coming Saturday May 14th. there will be a charity ride to help raise money for the Wish Project. There are many families that need help with cribs for babies and matresses for parents. Registration will start at 9am.

The Wish Project Mission:

To help end homelessness by providing otherwise expensive home and baby items for free so that families moving out of shelters succeed the first time.  Recycling goods to make wishes come true means that kids have beds to sleep in tonight and parents can sleep better because they are able to provide for their families tomorrow.

Look for furniture in your attic or basement.

Furniture for kitchen, living and bedrooms

  • Beds, cribs, clothing, baby swings etc.
  • Clothing, coats and shoes
  • Home goods
  • Toasters and other small appliances
  • Sheets, towels and blankets

Recycling to help people in need and the environment

Give Big Donation Days
They do not pickup from homes however we do work with hotels, recycling companies, universities and towns for yearly scheduled tractor trailer load pickups.  We call these Give Big days. In 3 hours we can collect a 48' truck load of goods.

Goods to be donated should be:

  • Fully functional and useful
  • Hygienic and clean
  • Safe: baby gear, appliances and electronics do not exceed 10 years age

John,  This is awesome, hope it was a huge success!  My family and friends adopt families at Christmas through churches and social services.  Each year I am amazed by the stories.  One year we delivered to a 3rd floor walk up and the 6 children only had gray moving blankets to sleep on.

Seeing that kind of thing makes you amazingly grateful for what I have!  I don't think most folks realize how "the other half" lives.  Good for you for doing your part.
