Today was our 3rd annual Keller Williams Red Day - a day of giving back to our community.
This was the third year in a row that we conducted spring clean-up and spring planting at two Cheyenne Village adult homes, one in Colorado Springs and the other in Manitou Springs. I headed up the effort for the Colorado Springs location, while Don Smith took charge of the efforts in Manitou. We had about 30 people working between the two locations.
Just like last year's Red Day, the weather did not want to cooperate, mid to high 30's and snow. But we pressed on. It was very rewarding to see the smiles on the residents faces when we were finished. The flowerbeds were cleaned out with new perennial and annual flowers planted around the facility. We had so much help, that we were finished within 90 minutes - including a bagel and coffee break. It really makes you feel good to know how much you are appreciated.
