Baby bunnies!

Over the weekend, my daughter and I visited with Suzi Hibbard of FurRescue.org. She is a great friend to bunnies and runs a very busy rescue. While Suzi and I were talking about her website, my daughter helped with the adoption (mostly picking up bunnies for littler kids to pet them - fun!) Suzi then let us visit with these tiny baby bunnies that she is bottle feeding. They are about 2 weeks old.

I don't think I've ever seen such small rabbits before, they are so cute!

Rabbits make great pets, but you need to be aware they are a real commitment; they live 10-12 years and need to live safely inside the house. You do have to clip their nails, or take them to a vet or groomer to have them clipped. Depending on your rabbit and household, rabbits can run loose in the house just like your cats (they can be litter box trained). They also can get along very well with cats (this is my daughter's cat and one of our rabbits below).

Anyway, just thought I'd share these adorable little bunnies!

Hi Sharon & Carol -

My daughter kept telling me, "Mom, that little black one likes you!" Nice try, kid. : )

I don't think I've ever seen baby bunnies that small either, they are completely adorable.

My neighbor had a rabbit for years and they decided to make it an outdoor enclosure as it was in a cage.  Unfortunately that made it open for a hawk/eagle.  She did live a long life though before that happened.

That is sad Marchel. Bunnies need to live in the house, in a very large cage or x-pen enclosure. We have way too many predators here too. I'm going to work on letting one of mine roam free in the house, he seems like he'd be fine doing that.
