In my recent article Why Use Twitter in Your Business I talked about the challenges many Real Estate Agents and Loan Officers face when working with this powerful micro-blogging tool. I questioned how a social media tool that has been described to me as being "so easy a 6 year old could do it" could stump so many?
Is it the twitter lingo, how to find friends to follow, how to tweet, what to tweet or why the heck you would even dive into another social media site? I believe it's a combination of all of the above.
Who Should Use Twitter
YOU! Think about it this way: you invest a little time, grow your business and get found OR you find it's just not working for you. Either way - you're ahead of your "fence-sitting" competition. So what have you really lost but a little time?

When you think about micro blogging, envision this:
You're standing in the middle of Times Square on New Year's Eve with hundreds of thousands of people. There's an emergency and you need to get the attention of someone on the other side of the street. How do you do that? By shouting with a bullhorn.

How to Tie Twitter into your other Social Media Efforts
This is a key piece of your Twitter account setup. Remember: There isn't one social media "silver" bullet. Combining your efforts and maximizing your exposure should be your goal.
Begin by defining what social sites you will use within your business:
- LinkedIn - The business professionals online resume...an absolute must!
- Facebook - It's not just for the college kids anymore. This is the online cocktail party every business should attend!
- Twitter - Your micro blogging future!
- YouTube - Have you implemented video into your marketing? If so, this is a place to host your Top 10 Tips for 1st Time Homebuyers or explanation of Top Mistakes Sellers Should Avoid.
- Reddit - Need more blog traffic? Then social bookmarking is essential! Upload your articles to reddit and drive traffic to your site or blog. Consistently submit your articles and grow your online presence.
- Digg - Submit your blog articles to this bookmark site and get found faster!
- Del.icio.us - A social bookmark site that lets you and other online researchers find relevant content. Get your blog found through keywords and tagging.
- StumbleUpon - Online surfing at its finest. A word of caution: you could find yourself falling deep into this black hole of information so monitor yourself closely!
- Technorati - Increase your subscribers through this blog network.
