As I was cruising down El Camino Real in Encinitas yesterday, I saw that the old Albertson’s (just north of Encinitas Blvd) is going to be a Kohl’s. Wow! A real live department store is coming to Encinitas.
Rumor has it that the Western-themed shopping plaza is going through a major overhaul and also will include a Chick-fil-A. So, once the shopping is done, you can cruise over to the chicken place for a soda and a sandwich.
The issue of ‘big’ department-style stores is not new to Encinitas. Many community members have frowned upon the significant growth of the city. That being said, it’s nice to know that there will be another place to purchase skivvies and socks besides Target.
