27 Comments on NAUGHTY NAUGHTY- PERSON THAT IS SUPPOSE TO BE WORKING FOR ME
Lauren - my husband has had the same problem....twice. In both cases they were secretary/book keepers who were robbing our company blind. He now double checks all references, does a background check and keeps an eye on things - you can't be too careful when it's your company.
That is awful Lauren.. Speaking of which... Do I get a company card??? Stacey needs a new pair of Choo's (Jimmy Choo).... :)
Lauren ~ excellent advice. Unfortunately it is almost hard to believe anyone nowadays.
Great point Lauren. You have to constantly watch who's in your business.
Pamela~ I know it is sooo sad... I think when we are so busy working and we think we found some good people we get into a comfort zone... and not want change, but if something like this is occurring... you have to make changes QUICK! because then why are we working so hard? for others to TAKE? Not soo good. My friend is saving about 150k a year letting the two go.
Thanks for stopping by Rebecca~ sometimes my blogs are in ALL caps... You will leave screaming... on those... I usually respond in all lower case at times too... Depends on my mood... I think that lower case is the "coding girl" in me... one CAP and the code doesn't work, but above the page I GO NUTS!~~~ LOL~
Oh Mike~ sooo true... I am not sure if you read one of my early AR blogs about the nightmare assistant I had?!!! OH NO! Not muy bueno~ I have a new one that is learning to get her license, so that's good...
Thanks Debbie~ he's the nicest guy! too! I will tell him the kindness that poured out of you all with the blog... ;)
You are quite welcome Keith~ and you are right! Getting the story out helps everyone BEWARE~ it could happen to any of us... Because at the end of the day... People watch out for themselves and with that if you ADD, bad intention... NOT Good!
Exactly Gabe~ and with those of us in a smaller type business or having outside help, regardless should check things out> even once a month... In my case it's my families well being, but even if you are single, you are not working HARD to give it away either without knowing.
Excellent point Richard... I am sure it did not come to any surprise by either of them!
Kristine~ sorry to hear that... sweetie.... One cannot be too careful at all and not to mention, who would think it would happen twice? CPA- types seem to get caught with their hand in the cookie jar way too much! So, it's just best to double check this dept. more often then NOT...
Stacey! Stacey! you are quite the riot!!! I think I peed my pants laughing... Now, every single time I wear my Jimmy Choo's I am going to think of you... Hopefully, there are no beverages in my mouth or I have a full bladder. LOL~
That's quite sad that the world has come that Dawn... you're right! :(
Frank~ you really... do :( When I had a bad apple in my group, my sister called it the first time she met her and I didn't listen to her... Have to go with your first instinct or listen to your sister IN MY CASE :(
Just had this discussion with a friend. That no matter how long you're employee is with you, you still need to monitor your OWN business. Good Advise.
Thank you Susanand soooo true. It's your business and one should keep an eye on it... No matter what~ ;) You started and created and that's part of your task as a business owner.
Lauren, you can keep an eye on your business but sooner or later someone will always try to steal from you, within the last year, 1 employee stole $10,000, another one, who I trusted changed he contact info to THEIR email address and stole some new clients. I swear it almost makes me not want to hire employees...
Kenneth
I recently hired 3 employees that are very grateful to be working. It sickens me when I here stories like the one in this post. I guess these people do exist, and we need to be aware of them.
That's terrible Kenneth, I feel for you... That happened to us too in our software business when an employee took clients with them as well... Not a good feeling... That's why I have trust issues myself.
In this economy Tom, I can see employees like yours and are quite thankful for employment, but those that have it and want more! from you! That's just not right! NO recommendation here! Don't even try, right? We MUST be cautious no matter who it is we hire... Keep a close eye~
Yikes Lauren! That wouldn't be cool huh? You really need to be careful and keep a solid grasp of things.
Marketing Tools</A>Really Great Blog You have!
Yes, Olgaone does have to. We all work too hard to be successful and not to have someone under-mind us like they did to my friend. Crazy! world we live in...
THanks True North Financial as well... ;)
Lauren - It is so important to pay attention to the bottom line and the people effecting it.
Absolutely Christine! and when this happens, more than likely ONE is in RED at the end of the year... AGH!
