Attention Housing Professionals!

Would anyone in this industry argue with the fact that we are “standing in the fire” and experiencing unprecedented times in our industry?

In fact, it’s probably safe to say that every one of us is very concerned and frustrated about the mortgage industry and the barrage of federal regulations that claim to protect the consumer. Do you find yourself spending a lot of time trying to keep up with all the new regulations and disclosures?

Are you shocked and outraged that the “BIG BANKS” have been excluded from the new rules and continue to try to squeeze the mortgage broker out of business?

The question we have to ask ourselves is… “What can we do to make certain our interests are represented and our voices are heard before elected officials craft legislation that negatively impacts our industry?” 

It’s time for all of us to WAKE UP and get involved, we can no longer afford to stand by and watch! 

Whether you are a Realtor, Mortgage Broker, Loan Originator, Appraiser, Wholesale Account Executive, Title Rep or Escrow Officer, you have the opportunity to make a difference!  I believe that a making a difference can always be achieved by two things; knowledge and numbers. 

First, by understanding what is happening, you will understand how valuable your participation and support is to the effort. Second is strength in numbers.  We must take action and stop being the scapegoats for the housing crisis; we all need to be part of the effort to make mortgage professionals a powerful force that is respected and valued in this industry and in Washington…

Let me ask you a difficult question…”If our industry had an association with 150,000 members, would we be given more respect as an industry and have a powerful voice to stop this attack on mortgage brokers?”  You bet!

Can you believe that currently less than 5000, of nearly 150,000 mortgage professionals in this country are members.
