Just a few years ago, the area where TD Ameritrade Park now sits did not have a lot to entice visitors to come and want to stay.  Vacant buildings and poorly lit streets made the old market much more enticing and subsequently this area did not fulfill its potential.  However, when it was annouced that the park would be built buildings started to pop up and builders started looking a little harder at the area.  Now that the stadium is actually finished and games have begun to be played there it is easy to see why many people are suggesting this will be the next big area downtown to explode. 

Already chains liek American Appareal have invested in the area, counting on the closeby Creighton University students as well as the new traffic to help grow their business.  Other places have also moved in to take advantage of the influx in traffic such as the Slowdown, a pizza joint, a bike shop and a movie theatre that primarily plays a mixture of Indie and Classic films.

Already a music city, the TD Ameritrade Park is speculated to be a huge asset for the music culture of Omaha,  Already a 50 band three stage three day music festival has been booked for nest year with more to come in the future.  If you have not ventured down there then grab a cap and go have a hotdog at the new TD Ameritrade Park- you won't regret it and I gaurentee it won't be the last time that you go!
