118 Comments on 6 Inexpensive, Easy Fixes to Better Curb Appeal
Good Point Jason - power washers are very strong and the last thing you want to do is blow the paint off your house!
Valerie - I'm also a gardener and love how my garden and yard looks once I've mulched! Good tip on the power washer - watch the pressure for sure!
Cory - Thank you and I hope so too!
Bob - lol, when do I start?
Tni - I agree, the door really makes a big difference and it so easy and quick to do.
Bill - Good point - torn screens are a big eye sore!
Tammie - Congratulations and I hope it a great party - I know your home will look great!
Carolyn - another great idea, but don't forget to put hay over the seed or the birds will eat it and the seed will blow away.
Marte - I have 3 Home Depots in my area and have never had a bad experience, but I'm sure it varies store to store. How about Lowes - they're pretty good too.
David - Thanks for adding the link and we have one too - we get so much use out of it, it pays for itself.
Lisa and Robert - Thank you and who wants to bother looking beyond an unkempt home - buyer just pass you by and move on to the next home.
Adam - Power washers are great on stucco and everyone should clean the outside of their house a least once a year!
Tammy - lol, good for you! We must be having the same weather today - rain and thunderstorms!
Daniel - Agreed and ones people can see!
Dimitri - lol - you've got one smart wife!
Kathy - That's the best part, clients are more likely to tackle these jobs because they are so inexpensive and give them a bang for their buck!
Nancy - you would think that everyone would get that, but that's not the case......unfortuantly!
Doesn't hurt to brighten up the house numbers on your curb either. A little white paint and then stencil on the numbers and paint with black

Simple Yet soooo effective!
I wish I could get a condo or co-op assocation to do these things on behalf of owners in the city!
Excellent tips Kristine. These ideas are key. Remember, the seller has only one chance to make a good first impression to prospective buyers.
Kristine:
You are so talented. All are easy to do, don't cost too much and are quick fixes. Thanks for sharing your great tips.

This is a really great post. One thing that can work to is to just paint the trim. It makes the entire house look like it has been painted.
Great ideas here. How about washing the windows too?
Kristine... excellent information! How about one that tells sellers to pick up all the toys and trash in the yard before showing the property? LOL yes, I've had this! I am going to reblog this!

Jeanne - Thank you - very much appreciated!
Wow, I feel so smart. I'm rehabbing a house now, and we did almost everything you said. Painted the door red, new door handle and matching door bell, fresh mulch in front and back yard...we also pressure washed soffit & fascia, and painted the rusty light covers (gorgeous exterior lighting in soffit around whole house). It looks great!
