How to Add Social Media Buttons to Your Active Rain Signature
I've received a lot of questions in regards to adding linkable social media images to your Active Rain signature. If you're not familiar with how the Active Rain signature is incorporated into your blog, here's a screenshot of what appears at the end of each of my blog articles:
You have two options in adding images to your Active Rain signature - upload an image from your computer or add the html code. Unfortunately, unless you're familiar with html this process can be cumbersome compared to simply uploading your Facebook, Twitter or other social media images.
Here are the step-by-step instructions to uploading images and attaching the corresponding web address:
- From your Active Rain home page, choose "Settings" on the left side of your screen and scroll down to "Signature." To add the images, click on the "picture" icon.
- Once you click on "picture", a browse tool pops up and enable you to browse your computer for your social media images. (I've attached these images for easy download)
- Now that you have uploaded your image, you will need to add the hyperlink in order for your image to direct visitors to your social sites. Click on your image and then choose the hyperlink button.
- This will bring up the add/edit window. In the address field, add the web address of your social media site, choose to "open in a new window" and then add your Title. Make sure it's specific to you and the social media site you're directing people to.
- Click "Update"
- Rinse and Repeat until you have added all images to your signature.

You can also use this process to add other images such as your Facebook Fan Page, Logo or Picture. Have fun creating your new signature!
