As Christians we have been charged with the Great Commission! See Matthew 28:19. This task seems so impossible and large humanly speaking. I have always felt so inadequate whenever I've read this verse. I remember as I was growing up, our church had that verse posted up front near the pulpit, with a picture of the world. I was always afraid God would ask me to be a missionary and I would have to go to Africa, Russia, or some foreign land. Yikes, I wasn't ready for that! I also used to think that if I was "too good" or too much of a Christian that is what would happen to me.
Thankfully, God equips us to do His service and for the most part we are not called to wander the desert, search for the promised land, or go to some foreign land. God want's us to be happy where He has us. And in this happiness we are to rejoice in the Lord and in our trusting, obeying and rejoicing over our salvation (given to us by Christ's love) we are to share His Love, His Blessings (that He has bestowed upon us), not only by living a life of obedience (righteous living), but also with our lips, we are to share our knowledge, wisdom, and instruction (Share His Word)
Now here is the good news. All power, authority and dominion has been given to Jesus. When we invite Him into our lives, it is His power and authority to fulfil the Great Commision. For He gives us the power of the Holy Spirit, for it is no longer I that lives, but that Christ lives in me.
