Evening in Daytona Beach Shores

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Daytona Condo Realty, 386-405-4408

Today we went to the beach a bit later than usual. We enjoy perfect temperatures, warm but not hot. The water in the ocean is 74, which is still cold for locals, and tourists have it all for themselves.

We walked for over an hour and a half, and were coming back watching the full moon rising above the ocean. By the moment we got to the Atlantic Ave, the moon was already high enough and was shining over the condominium buildings in the Oceans Complex in Daytona Beach Shores. It just started getting darker and the scenery was gorgeous.

Evening in Daytona Beach ShoresI did not have my quite heavy camera with me, and I decided to go home, grab the camera and come back and take a picture. It was less than 15 minutes later that I was back with the camera, but the light has changed, it was darker.

I still took the photo, but it was another reminder that it is always a moment. And if you are not there, or without your camera, you lose. Living here, however, gives me a lot of opportunities to catch the beauty around with my camera.

Hi jon,

You paint a picture with words, then you light up the screen with a beautiful photo.

Thanks

A little envious, but thanks..

Phil

Jon, nice shot.  I've never been able to capture the moon with my camera.  Each time I see an awesome view and shoot it, it comes out without the moon there.  It's either a setting or the camera.  I'm sticking to homes for the time being.  lol

Jon,

You are a gifted writer and a great photographer to boot.

I love reading your posts.

It seems that I'm always a tad too late to get my camera out, but I love the photo even though you said the moment had been lost.. :)

Maggie - this is weird. Your camera has conspired against you. (LOL). Well, to get it seen I was shooting with a 200 mm lenses, and it is pretty much why I got the moon.

Andrea - thanks, this is cool, the one that I missed was great. Oh well, I sacrifice it as I can't walk with a backpack with a camera, three heavy like hell lenses, and other small stuff.

Judi - thank you. Now that I missed it, I will be trying to catch it, isn't it funny? Like in life, we want what we did not get

Ginny - as humans we are not very concerned with the Universe and the Eternity, but we are very concerned with the momentum. Time from years, months, weeks, days, hours became a click. It is now 2 clicks away, or 3 clicks away, and if it 5 clicks away, forget it...

Bob - I lived in the Arctic for 14 years. I remember going to the Black Sea for vacation. I stayed with my uncle. He was curious why any reasonable person would live in the Arctic. I proudly told him that my vacation was 42 days, and I can go to the Black Sea, or anywhere... He said that if that was the case, then he had 365-days vacation.

Now, he was a wise man, surived Nazi concentration camp, and I think I learned something from him

Praful - it is interesting what association are there with photos. It reminded you of India, where I have never been...

I submitted the entry for Photoblogger contest, not this one. The other one is more blog than photo.
