I love Mondays...
I couldn't sleep so I jumped in the shower and off to work early on a Monday morning no less. I know a lot of people dread Monday mornings so when I read this I knew I had to share it. I'm glad I couldn't sleep, I might have missed this. Happy Monday.
Monday is my favorite day of the week, and has been for many years.
That could be because I love what I do for a living. Copywriting can be frustrating, even hair-pulling at times. But it's still fun. Each new project brings it's own challenge - like a puzzle to be solved. And I've always loved puzzles.
Each Monday seems like a new beginning. Even if there's ongoing work from the week before, Monday feels almost like New Year's Day. A fresh start.
I always have an anticipation - eager to see what kind of good things will happen this week.
Because I work for myself, I don't take week-ends off. But a lot of the people I need to contact do at least take Sunday off. So on Monday I can get busy getting information that wasn't available over the week-end.
I know it's silly, but on Monday I suddenly feel like I have plenty of time - while by Thursday I'm feeling rushed.
This Monday will be a busy day - a new project that needs to be finished by early afternoon. But I'm looking forward to it with pleasant anticipation.
I've always felt sorry for people who sing the TGIF song... Thank goodness it's Friday. So many live only for the week-ends and their time off.
My thought is that if they feel that way, they need to do whatever it takes to find a new job or a new career. It must be miserable to hate getting up and starting over on Monday morning. And so many do.
I'll always remember a motivational CD I listened to several years ago. Les Brown was one of the speakers and he talked about how many people have a first heart attack on Monday morning. He has such an infectious laugh - and he used it right after he said "People are just dying to go to work."
My Monday is going to be a super day... I hope yours is too!
