Getting Unstuck With The Thinking In Your Head

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty 0575737

Turtle In ShellWith many of our projects including what selections to do with social media, writing outside blogs, devising more effective prospecting techniques for our business, updating our business plans at mid year, and for that matter even our personal plans in our life for the year we sometimes need to step back and get

Unstuck With The Thinking In Our Head.

We can overthink just about anything and the problem with that is either NO PROGRESS occurs or like the turtle, we come out of that shell ever so slowly.

If you needed a maxim to help yourself get better in this area how about this one?

    Do, Don't Think So Much.

Two BrainsIt is all about execution. Just get started. Don't be like Spiderman shooting out webs from your perch on one building to many other buildings and never let go. We don't get unstuck cause of:

Perfection - 80% good is ok at first

Procrastination - not starting is more comfortable, push yourself out

Fear of the unknown - how do you know new is worse? if it is, you can recalibrate and go another direction

Mismatched environment - you are not opening your brain to freedom if you are an artist in cubicle land, or an accountant with a bunch of musicians. Soar with your like kind depending on which side of your brain is dominant

Life is too short for too much analysis paralysis and the sooner you free yourself about thinking about a project or new way of life ad nauseum the better.

Tweak the new path as you go to make it better. But above all GO !! Leap and the net will appear.

Gary-I really like your content. Getting un-stuck from a unproductive mindset can baffle us all.  Bookmarked for later, suggested for now, thanks!

Robert: I would use a hook with the fishing unless you just like being out on the water : )

Karen: I think I even used that wacky turtle in the past myself somewhere.

Marie: Yes and we don't want to get stuck in that baffled or confused land too long.

Over thinking and too much info both have the same effect- it imind numbing.  Sometimes it takes time to digest and catagorize how we need this information or if in fact we need it at all.  I agree Gary the holding place needs to be only a short stop on the long journey.

Allison: I like that holding place image you came up with. Some people get cob webs between their feet they spend so much time there analyzing.

"Thought provoking", Gary!! Never saw the turtle before, and I am in love with your graphics to share the knowledge and become unstuck. Like bran for the brain, it keeps things MOVING SMOOTHLY.

Ha!

Gary-I think the best kind of thinking to get unstuck from is STINKING THINKING.

Sharon: Excellent point. That negativity style thinking is bad self-talk for ourselves and completely harmful when it is directed at others. Good to see you pop by.

Gary: Life is like a merry-go-round, unless you push the stop button and jump off you'll just keep going round and round and round. Your blog was definitely a "thought provoker".

Garu. I needed that particular push today.  I have been concentrating too much on the past.  As my broker always says, Go Sell Something.  Which translates into get out there and DO something.

I guess 80 percent of something will have to do for this week. Thanks for the permission not to make 100 percent of nothing.

Good morning Gary,

Wonderful message! I see some agents getting ready to get ready..always procrastinating..leaping into the unknown is hard but if you don't get off dead center and take that leap you'll never make it!

Hi Gary, while one of my favorite all time saying is "Just Do It," I'm kind of proud to be a thinker. lol.  Granted, you do make very good points.

Elizabeth: The heart, the gut feel, is so incredibly on the mark when we look back at things.

Pam: Trusting ourselves is a very good way to put it, rather than looking for others for permission to move on.

Carl and Ceil: Yes, get off the merry go round. Or else, you'll stay spun up and dizzy.

Suzanne: Action makes things happen and 80% of the way there you will get a lot done.

Dorie: Getting ready to get ready, that is an apt way to put it. We have to shake out of that.

Sondra: A thinker is wonderful, I am just saying don't overthink, staying in the thinking an inordinate amount of time.
