A broken fibula - Now what?

A crazy thing happened at Fitness Together on Saturday morning.

My partner and spouse was performing an exercise that required her to step up on a two foot high bench and then step down with 15 lbs weights in her hand.  Toward the end of the exercise she lost her balance and fell breaking her fibula.  She is now in a split and we have to make arrangements to see an orthopedic surgeon today.

This could of been avoided if her personal trainer had been close enough to help her get her balance back.   This will take Jane away from work and driving for approximately six weeks.  As a team we will be able to handle the business and our clients albeit with a great deal more effort on everyone else's part.

That does beg the question what if we did not have the help of a team and was just a couple or a single agent?

Is disability insurance available or even affordable to agents?

While on disability and recovery who is stimulating new business?

I can think of other concerns associated with this and the relationships even with commission.  Do we make too much money like the pundits suggest.?

Ouch, be thankful you  are a team. I am a loner, and do not know the answers to those questions. Hope someone does. I never even thought about it.

All I can tell you is that i went in for back surgery on 8/7. I should have been down for a week and then able to work from home for a while, but the hospital aftercare caused me all sorts of problems, not least of which were two infections! The bottom line is I was down for seven to eight weeks and although I have an assistant, it has certainly had an effect. I am back now and kicking butt in Orlando again! I didn't have and never investigated that kind of insurance so I can't answer your main question.

Good luck and feel better soon.
