"Keeping Life Simple!"

I’m re-reading this little book by Karen Levine, and I wanted to share some of the advice she gives.

Even though, some of the advice in the book is impractical, at least for me, and most of it I already know but don't practice it.  But, it does help to review good ideas and at least try them out!

From the book: 7 guiding Principles:

#1....Relax your standards

#2....Free yourself of stereotypical roles

#3....Take time to figure out what you find most satisfying

#4....Create time for the things you care about

#5....Learn to enjoy what’s in front of you

#6....Learn to be flexible

#7....Prioritize

Feel free to add to the list.

What principles have you lived by that has helped simplify your life? For me it's been #5....learning to enjoy what’s in front of you has been the most valuable!  And the one that I try to live by!  Notice I said "try!"  lol!

Also, I create a new ActiveRain group: Keeping Life Simple

Where everyone can share their ideas, thoughts and stories about how they have simplified their life.  It feels good to share, doesn't it?  I hope you will help me grow this group.  Thanks for reading and posting.

Aida, I would say #4 for me, which is my kids and husband.  I try to, but not always succesfully.

I agree with you and focus on #5.  It puts a positive spin on life and makes you realize really how much you have!

I too focus on #5. Days where I'm overwhelmed by what's on my plate, I think of the days that I sit willing the phone to ring and vice versa. It keeps me grounded and constantly reminds me to stay positive and happy for what does come my way.

Thank you ladies for you comments....this market is sure making our life in real estate more complicated than it has to be and staying grounded is getting harder....we really need to stay focused on what really matters....family and health are good ones.
