Last week my AR score eeked over the 50,000 benchmark and I recall other bloggers asking "am I still a newbie?" when they reached similar hurdles. One of the few things consistent in life is change ... so long before I was a Blogger, I committed myself to lifelong learning. I try to keep an open mind and remember that I am always a Newbie (but I do forget sometimes).
I think the AR system of rewarding points for active Bloggers is great. It instantly gratifies us for things we should be doing to strengthen our presence on the web ... like consistently posting new content and comments. Otherwise the value of AR points is insignificant.
BUT ... I do monitor very significant results from my blogging efforts. I've noticed several of my articles appearing in Google and Yahoo search engine results, and last month our web site received 79 visitor referrals from ActiveRain.com and 6 from localism.com. The average PPC cost-per-click in our market area is $3 ... so for the month of September the value of traffic alone was $255 (not counting SEO & SERP value).
I didn't reach 50,000 points alone. Many thanks to everyone who has contributed by commenting on my articles and providing inspiration for new content.
