It has got to be Spring!

We have done all the right things. We waited the extended period for weather indicators that Spring was here.

With every snowfall, we believed it would be the last one, or one "at higher elevations" (which would seem to include us as well). We tolerated a foot of snow on the last day of April.

With warmer days, often several in a row, we allowed ourselves the luxury of shedding winter gear, and even to lower a window when driving. Then 80 degree temperatures brought out some leaves and blossoms.

We were at last into the new season. Sounds of tillers (and mowers) everywhere. Plants flying off nursery shelves. New gardens begun.

Then today: definitely chilly. Rain scuds without warning, rises and dips in temperature. Even hail and snow, again!

It's 5:30pm and the sun is out, not warm, but it's out. The sky is blue, and I can hear a mower in the distance..
.
Note to Nature: We believe, WE BELIEVE. We accept that this IS Spring.

Larry, I hope the Spring is in your area to stay. It amazes me how long you have to wait for the flowers to bloom and the temperature to rise. Have you ever considered moving south?

Dear Larry -
What
tree is in the background of your borders? I love how the sun hits the leaves.
Oddly enough, it was in the mid-fifties today in Atlanta!  Very cold for May 17th around here!
Have a happy day -
Lynn

Elizabeth - apart from the strange weather, this part of UT has many pluses. I have lived in many different climates, and found pluses for all of them. Apart from my occasional whiney attitude, I am likely to be here for a while, with visits to other parts as the need arises.

Cara - my wife often talks about her life in AZ and the nice times, the winters and the heat. It looks like we will be high altitude desert people for a while.

Lynn - we are all having variations to our norm in climate. It will all even out eventually. The tree is a neighbor's Pie Cherry to which we have harvest priviledges. It is a beautiful tree, especially when it fruits. The birds love it too.

Torgie - you are further north in WA, and seem to be tolerating the drearies for even longer than we are. The brightness will be good when it's finally here. I have just been driving in rain and mist, and we have even heavier versions promised for tomorrow and Friday. Somehow the green will win out.

Patricia - I have been enjoying your adventure pics immensely. When you went missing on your trip I called several times but noone thought to tell me you were away. Great news about your time with your daughter.

HI LARRY!  Definitely spring!  It's chilly in Tucson (for Tucson!) and we are expecting rain too!  Love the collage photo!

Larry ~ Terrific collage! I think we should put in a request to Florida to send warmth your way.

Gabrielle - our rain continues. The waterways are full, a hiccup will send them over. In a few weeks we will look back and wonder. I love the collages that Picasa 3 produces so easily.

Diane - I like the warmth to bring clients, and other lookers out consistently. Collages consume lots of photos to tell their story or to reinforce an other.

Pamela - I appreciate your good cheer from CA ~ it's infectious, along with your smile. My first collages used to take days to produce (I used them in my advertising in the 80s) with lots of individual prints combined and rephotographed. Now they take seconds, and anyone can do them.
