I have no idea if this person is somehow related.
My husband JOHN GOULDING, is 3rd generation Californian.
Imagine my surprise when Tyler found this Lieutenant's Tomb Stone from
Company C in the Civil War when I was in Arlington with Tyler before he left for Iraq.
Freaky - a tad bit. Goulding is NOT a common name in the Bay Area of California... perhaps it was in 1865
The guy on the tombstone was with the 16th New York Cavalry, so unless your husbands folks were from N.Y. . . .
How interesting. Hopefully, with a little research, you can find out more about that branch of the family.

My cousin did the family tree on one side of the family. It was simply fascinating to read! If only we had more time, right...
