This is a very interesting article or blog that I read recently here on Active Rain.  I decided to take advantage of the re-blog feature here, so others can also enjoy this read.  Thanks

A-Picture-Is-Worth-1000-WordsHaving a real estate website with brilliant content is very important if you want to win traffic from Google and the other search engines, but so much more needs to be done to capture the attention of the visitors to your site. This is just another example of how building a state-of-the-art content marketing website will often reflect the lessons learned from brick and mortar businesses and our traditional marketing practices.

One thing you might start noticing (now that I mention it :) ) is that I include at least one graphic in every blog post on my blog site. I do this because I know that many people do not read all of the post, rather they “skim” and pull tidbits from the piece. I usually create and embed a picture in each post in order to deliver the theme of each post to the visitor in the form of an image. And this is very old-school.

Newspapers have used images and cartoons for years to deliver the core message to their readers. Magazine ads and television ads often can be understood without even reading or hearing a word, and of course sales people have used collateral material for years to help them convey an important message. This is just as true online with your progressive internet marketing as it was offline for the past million years or so.

I constantly prowl the internet for new ideas, better seo, and even popular design, and I am often amazed at how some great-content sites contain very little imagery. When I checked into my 100 or so “Favorited” sites, I found zero that were text based, and I suspect that most other people have similar tastes.

So gather the pictures that will help you reach your readers. If they know they can return on a regular basis and discover the answers that they seek, without having to read pure academic text, then you will be rewarded with a flow of traffic that continues to grow. And that is one of the goals of a content marketing plan.
