The American Dream is fading away as we speak. .
Not because it does not exist t anymore is because of all the foreclosures.
Let me explain
We are in danger of losing a generation of buyers in the real estate industry just because of foreclosures.
A lot of young people are seeing their parents lose their homes to foreclosure and the lesson to them is a lot more powerful than someone else just telling them that it makes more sense to own than to rent.
These young people are seeing the stress on their parents.. . the tears, the feeling of NOT knowing where you will be living next month, add this the fear that someone may come at anytime knocking on the door and ask them to move out and their furniture on the street.
That is no life for anyone . . specially for children that are able to comprehend this stressful situation
A foreclosure not only robs you of your home. .
It robs you of your faith in the American dream. .more importantly it is a lesson to your children that will put them in a disadvantage as they enter the world when they become adults.
Things happen. .a short sale is just the selling of a home and it just adjusting your life and understanding that in the next few years . . you will once again come back and purchase your dream home again.
The idea of this post came to me after I was contacted by a person we helped do a short sale 2 years ago. . they want to start looking again. .this time they have learned their lesson and they are looking for affordabilty in housing and being smart about how much can they really pay every month for their mortgage.
I hope their kids join us when we start looking at houses once again. . the lesson to them is the same lesson we all should be teaching our children.
The American dream still is there. . .take it . .its a smart move.
