Why the demand for images?

Why the demand for images?

My Australian friends think they have lost me to the wiles of an American woman (my lovely wife), and their chances of seeing me again are, at best, remote.

It's been a few months shy of five years, and their plaintive wails for "even a picture" are growing incessant

Stone the crows I was never known to have excess pictures of me anyway. I took the pictures, I recorded, I was the photographer, so often on the other side of the camera.

I have refused to install a webcam to humor them ~ I have seen the less-than-flattering results from those who have installed them to impress distant relatives. Lots of lines, bulges and bald heads, depressing really!

Why the complaints and demands for images? I am not that much different to my baby photos.

I even added an up-to-date caricature to my Christmas cards the year before last.

In an attempt to appease them , and my long suffering wife, I have produced the above, up-to-date collage to take care of the matter. Now they will all see that, despite their fears to the contrary, my voice and writings are indeed those of  a vibrant cove, enjoying himself to the max.

Chris - keep writing. I'm watching you. Sometimes I just look at a blank screen for ages, especially when I leave my creativity to the end of the day. Here 10pm is competition midnight

Samantha - thanks for the remark. My wife called a celebration recently when her count of my hats reached 40 (and she missed a few) ` almost up to the number of my furry friends, my puppets.

Lines and bulges don't make an attreactive thought, so like you I am not a fan of photos that remove all doubt. Not yet bald but the fine hair that covers the dome don't mesh well with hats! Enjoy the day!

Lynn - lots of fun on a rainy day. I must be in the the self-entertaining category. Having a wet happy day again today.

Roger - throw them a bone occasionally. My spheres of activity seem to change regularly in spite of the "where are you?" enquiries.

Wayne - I grew through my hair a while ago, or it baled out when i was not paying attention. I think my major milestone was becoming old enough to be eccentric.

Larry - love your photos and you are so creative and have a great sense of humor! What photo program did you use to make this collage?

Kristine - I try to maintain a light-hearted approach to life. A mental picture of me crying would not be a pretty sight. I make collages with Picasa 3 (free). For that program a collage is a heap of photos. Very easy to use with lots of individual controls and lots of fun mistake serendipities.

Larry. The photos are all great, but I think I have to go with the green wig. That thing is great. And I get to learn a bit in the process. Picasa 3 huh? I'll have to look in to that. Thanks

Scott - thanks, the wigs are another story of disguise, and a voyage in restoring confidence. Go for Picasa 3. I feel that it it underutilized. I do my utmost to promote it in a non-tech way as I find all else that it can do. I am sure you will be rewarded for exploration.
