The past few weeks have been a little, how shall we say, stressful? Tiring? Frustrating?
Such is the life of a busy real estate agent during the spring season, though, right?
Add in some severe neck and shoulder muscle strain, mix with a couple of high maintenance clients (yeah, I can say that, because they never recognize themselves, EVER), blend with poor posture and VOILA, you have my life the past few weeks.
And while I like to think I'm the rather stoic type - stiff upper lip and all that - well, I have been pretty vocal about my aches, pains and the meltdown I felt sure was creeping my way.
In fact, stress has been a recurring theme this month...and it has felt so good to write about it, vent and whine about it. Yes, somehow that does make me feel better - and I feel better knowing I am in a community who understand what it is we do all day.
Yesterday, a fellow agent - who is also a good friend and neighbor - picked up my mail at the office for me.
She arrived at my house bearing mail and a box. Hmmmm....odd, I thought, I had not ordered anything. And I'd already received a hot-off-the-press copy of Jennifer Allan's latest (and terrific!) book, "Prospect with Soul for Real Estate Agents" so I was pretty sure that wasn't it.
Imagine my shock when I opened the box to find an assortment of shower gel, bubble bath and shampoo...all in enticing flavors and fragrances. I searched for a packing slip, gift card, something, to tell me what this was about.
Guess what the card said? "Hi, Susan. We read your post about needing time to relax. Here's a little something to get you started. Love, ActiveRain."
WOW! You guys! Can you believe this? I was stunned, my friend was uber-impressed (just how important WAS I?) and I was, well, stunned! Especially considering I am totally an aromatherapy-bubble bath kinda girl!
Anyway, to make a long story short (oops, too late), I was so excited last night about my new goodies, I lit a couple of candles and slipped into a very relaxing, super sweet smelling bubble bath. I could feel the stress melting away!
In fact, I was so relaxed that instead of staying up until all hours of the night as I normally do, I turned in early and was soon fast asleep. And I have not had a night's sleep like that one in weeks. It was awesome.
Just one little problem - I was so wrapped up in my A/R-induced stupor, I completely forgot to post in the 31 Days of May Challenge.
ROFL...oh, well, you win some, you lose some. I'll make up the points another day.
Today, though, Active Rain has made me feel like a total winner. Thanks, guys.
