Things to do in the Wilmington NC area this weekend 5/20 ~ 5/22
Hey Wilmington NC! We've got another great weekend of events!
Don't forget about the Mayfaire's Music on the Town Series. FREE concert tonight, 5/20, with classic southern rock band Jam Sandwich. Bring your blankets, chairs and coolers!
LakeFest at Greenfield Lake. On Saturday, head out to Greenfield Lake and learn about the lake's plants, animals and water quality. Everyone is welcome to this FREE Event! Arts, crafts and live animal displays.
If history is your thing, check out the horse drawn wagon rides at Oakdale Cemetery. Our cemeteries help tell much of our history, and there is much to learn about the history of Wilmington NC! Rides begin at 3:00 PM, last tour at 5:30 PM; cost for non-member adults is $10.00; children 12 years and younger, $8.00. Members pay $8.00 for adults and $6.00 for children 12 years and younger. Tours are canceled in the event of inclement weather.
Energy Quest at Cape Fear Museum. I love this place! There's always something going on and this Saturday at 10a it's Energy Quest. Discover different types of energy and how we use them to do things for us - light and heat our homes, bake cakes, freeze water, move cars, play music and more. Visit hands-on science stations to experiment and explore green technologies with local scientists. Admission is $3 ~ $5.
Surprise Program at Children's Museum of Wilmington. Another favorite place! Visit the museum on Sunday at 3:30p and enjoy a Surprise Program. Admission is $8.
Don't forget all of our Farmer's Markets going on this weekend. Support your community, your neighbors and eat healthier by buying local produce and products!
