Active Rain members help me get my first 100,000 points.
I wrote my first blog Active Rain in August of 2008. I didn't write my
second blog until December of 2009.
Then I got a phone call from Pamela St.Peter and I wrote my third blog in January of 2010 about being ACTIVE in Active Rain.
From there, my writing and blogging was spotty at best for the majority of 2010. Then I entered into a couple of blogging contests and that gave me the motivation to start writing more. And I realized that the more I wrote, the easier it became. I started looking at things differently.
I was LOOKING for things to blog about.
I would take my camera with me whenever I left the house to run errands or take care of business.
As I went around town, I would look at parks, business, houses and
neighborhoods as opportunities to write about. I even found that if I
had a file full of random pictures, I could go there on occasion when I
couldn't think of something to write about.
I would browse through the pictures until one gave me an idea for a topic to write.
When I first started blogging, 10,000 points looked SO far away. I felt like I was never going to get there. But I realized the more I read
other blogs and left comments, the more I was learning from other
members who are willing to share and encourage each other.
I've even developed some great relationships here in Active Rain.
This community is full of members that are willing to share what they know, help each other and encourage new members to be better bloggers.
THANK YOU to all the members that have given me a nudge here and there when I needed it.
I think I'll treat myself to a candy bar.
