I'll admit there was a little part of me that was looking for a chance to slack off today and skip a blog post. The end of the world was imminent so no one would be around to grant me my 3000 points so I'd be able to just let it slide. I made myself a Cosmopolitan pulled out a few pieces of my favorite chocolate and waited for the end. Nothing I got nothing. Just like the whole Y2K scare...a big bust. The good news was in anticipation of the end of the world I managed to clear $80 selling my precious junk at the Belmont Bay community yard sale and it was a beautiful day to enjoy lunch outdoors at the Blue Arbor Cafe in Occoquan. Tomorrow is another day and perhaps I'll have something more important to blog about but today I'm just enjoying the beautiful weather and the ability to appreciate another sunset.
Jesus spoke of "...ravenous wolves in sheep's clothing who would devour The Flock", and the Apostle Paul talked about "...those who purvey The Gospel for filthy lucre".
This hokey Doomsday Preacher has grossed $80,000,000 from peddling this message.
Good evening, Cindy. Dang! I knew something important was going to happen today. I totally forgot that some dude had a heart to heart with Jesus...
What a gloriously beautiful day this has been...a cosmopolitan and a chunk of chocolate sound just about right to me.
Robert-I didn't have any doubts that the sun would come up on another day. I guess there are some who truely believed that it would end. To each his or her own.
John-that's funny. Keeping a sense of humor about doom and gloom seems appropriate.
Simone-I think today is predicted to be more of the same in our area. After a quick bite to eat I'm hopping on my bike for a ride to the nature reserve.
Fred-I saw a small interview with him on the news and thought...well I guess I can't print what I thought. Have a great week.
Michael-HA I think maybe someone was tokin' off some whacky weed. Just my opinion though.
Susan-now I have to figure out a way to burn off those extra calories today :-)
Richard-but you did have a smile on your face so if it was going to be the end of the world you would have been happy.
Now if we can just make it through Decembe 21, 2012, right? :) Should I skip my Christmas shopping that year?
Lou-yes it was back to reality...though I didn't really every leave it. Have a great week.
