Peonies blooming in the Kentlands rain

I enjoy neighborhood walks through Kentlands in Montgomery County, Maryland. I took these photographs between showers on a rainy day. When you grow peonies, you have to watch them when there is a lot of rain.  The weigh of the rain water will sometimes make large blossoms droop to the ground.

I hope you are having a great weekend. Today, Dolores and I spent the day at Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania.  The annual Lilytopia exhibit is now open and displaying over 10,000 lilies.

Hi Roy - Not the best week for your Peonies to be blooming with as much rain as we have had!  Hopefully they will dry out this weekend and look beautiful for you (although they do look great with the raindrops!).

There is a place here in Balboa Park where there are quite a few peonies. Unfortunately, they rarely look good because the lawn sprinklers spray on them each day, causing them to droop and many of the blooms to fall to the ground.
