Have you ever heard of the science of Physiognomy, or in common language, "Face Reading?"
Yesterday I attended the Orlando Regional International Councils First Annual International Congress and Trade Fair, which was so informative and very well attended by Certified International Property Specialists (CIPS) and International Council members throughout Florida.
The afternoon keynote speaker, Ann Marks, gave a phenomenal presentation based on Mac Fulfer's book, "Amazing Face Reading", an Illustrated Encyclopedia for Reading Faces. She began the presentation by giving some interesting facts about the human mind and how we recognize and process data. She gave some pictures of faces and asked us to guess which was the accountant and which one the night club bouncer, based on photos. She demonstrated that we read faces regularly, and most of our face reading is stereotypical. She then went on to explain how the thoughts that go through our brains become etched in our faces and that our faces are a roadmap of our experiences.
Face Reading transcends language and culture and is universal in its scope. Very commonly used in the legal field as a part of jury selection, as our emotions, termperament, attitudes and potentials all show through on our faces.
We learned that the right side of our faces (left brain) have to do with our Professional and public life, and our left side of our faces (right brain) have to do with our family life, childhood, and children.
we received a video demonstration of how one's eyes, the size of the iris, the response of the pupils, and how much and the placement of the whites of the eyes can give clues to stress, emotions, and even shock.
Finally, volunteers were recruited for public face reading, and were invited to critique their readings. We were given examples of how this could be useful in reading and interpreting our customers' state, because their cultures may not be the same as ours and this technique transcends language barriers.
It was an incredibly revealing and informative and entertaining presentation, and if your curiosity is piqued, you can go to the website, http://www.amazingfacereading.com/ and investigate this fascinating science.
