White Mountain Waterfall - New Hampshire - walk in the woods.

By
Managing Real Estate Broker with Alpine Lakes Real Estate Inc., NHRE# 02863

At the entrance of the Fraconia Notch State park in Lincoln New Hampshire you'll find the Flume Gorge. From there you can explore a few hundred-thousand acres of wilderness...if every direction. I93 to exit 34 /Flume.

The water pounds through this narrow gorge after a heavy rain...the boardwalk stays up from May till late October before being disassembled for the winter.

    Bridal Veil falls.

A hidden hiking trail not frequented by many lies just north of the Notch...beyond the Cannon Mountain ski area and the public beach on Echo lake part of the state park system here in New Hampshire. This hike can be found on any decent trail map or if you search the Internet for Bridal Veil Falls, it will be worth the easy (safe for a beginner hike. You'll find the trail head along rte 116 in Franconia...but you have to look for it.

BRIDAL VEIL FALLS
Coppermine Trail off Rt. 116 near Easton. The 80 foot falls are a 2.5 mile hike in. To truly appreciate the falls, view them from both above and below.

North Woodstock NH. Where I live there are a couple of places I like to pull over and roam in to the woods.

The last waterfall is from a small brook, fed by a pond out in the White Mountain National Forest. Like all the others there is no industry or land development up stream from the source and that means there is nothing man-made introduced in to the water on it's way down. Just the rain mixing with the rock and soils it passes over on it's way south and ultimately to the Atlantic ocean.

Love the imagery and the trails not many see. Those are special places needing revisiting often to get recharged, pumped up and worked out.

I know I've said it before, but I just don't know how you can get any work done living in such a beautiful area as you do.

Andy...I wouldn't live here if I was a shut in, there are some really great hikes and trails near my home and office.

Craig, I sometime wonder if I do get enough work done, but my clients come first and the White Mountains are a close second.

Steve, each time that I have been to the Flume Gorge, the water was much more calm than that.  What a difference after the rain.

As soon as the post opened, I knew that was the Flumes....great family memories from when I was kid.  I've been there plenty of times all grown up, but it's the childhood memories that are the fondest.  I never saw it like this though, I can almost hear it!

Bliz and Bill, the boardwalk is so cool, and yes it has to be taken down every year or the ice will tear it apart.

Sharon, it feel quite different when it runs like this the volume rushing through the gorge is a bit scary.
